Program Title: Succession Planning in State Government:  Will it Work?

Speaker:  Patrick "Pat" Barton, Manager of Employee Development and Succession Planning at the NJ Department of Transportation


Patrick's career in this position began in February 2003.  He has worked in the field of Human Resources and Organizational Development for 30 years, the past 24 of which have been with three different Departments within New Jersey State Government.  Pat has a Masters of Science in Human Resource Education from Fordham University and has done extensive post graduate work including being certified in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) & the Managerial Assessment of Proficiency (MAP). In addition, Pat has completed the academic portion of the certification process required by the International Coach Federation (ICF) for the designation of Professionally Certified  Coach (PCC).  In the spring of 2009, Pat will begin his Doctoral work in Organizational Behavior. 
 

The program meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at 11:45am - approx. 2:00pm at:

Directions: Take 29 North to Sullivan Way. Make right turn onto Sullivan Way and bear left under the train track. Continue on Sullivan Way until you see the Post Office on left hand side. The parking lot for Antonio's is the second driveway after the Post Office on the left side. Additional parking:  Go to traffic light on W. Upper Ferry Road and make a left turn. Parking is available on the right side in the Fisk Complex parking lot.

Menu choices include:
Entrée choices (see below), and also included with your lunch entrée choice is a Garden Salad, a Cold Beverage, Regular and Decaffeinated Coffee, and Vanilla Ice Cream for dessert.

Please pick one of the following four- (4) Entrée choices and email Jenny Zoog, Chapter Secretary at: jenny.zoog@dep.state.nj.us by Thursday, November 13, 2008.

1. Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad
2. Fresh Baked Tilapia
3. Grilled Vegetable platter
4. Chicken Marsala served with Penne Pasta.

The price for IPMA-HR members is $20.00. Guests are also welcomed. Guest price is $24.00 without membership. Applications will be available at the meeting for those that want to join or renew their membership. If you decide to join and complete your membership application with fee at the lunch meeting, your lunch is FREE!  Please see any IPMA-HR Executive Board Member in attendance for full details.   The fee for a new member joining will be $40.00 for one year. You will then be an affiliated member with the International Chapter.

Please remember if you are not a Member in Good Standing you will need to pay the Guest price unless you rejoin.
